EVERYONE at the club is really excited about getting the season underway tomorrow night.
Pre-season has been there for us to get into shape and blow the cobwebs out and although we didn’t have the best weekend against Bracknell we can put that behind us now.
Nobody will remember how we did in pre-season so now it’s time for us to move forward and make things count. We had three good, different, games and bedded in some stuff, we learnt how to play with some of the new guys and that was good for us.
We start the season with a cup game which is something a little different for this year, and it’s a great opportunity for the academy boys.
I think there will be seven or eight of them involved which I’m sure they are excited about so this is a great chance for them to show Ryan what they can do in a proper situation.
They practiced with us last night and looked good but there’s only so much you can show in practice, so hopefully they can impress Ryan and show him what they’re all about in serious games.
The most important thing is that they have to enjoy and feel relaxed so that they can show their best.
Obviously they will be nervous but as experienced players it’s up to us to try and calm them down and keep their heads right so that they can make the most of the chance.
They are talented guys so I’m sure the Wildcats fans will enjoy watching them play and it’s exciting to see some young players coming through too.
