Following the success of this new concept in Bristol and Brighton, Swindon Travel Choices starting it’s organised group cycle to work project or ‘cycle trains’.
Instead of striking out on your own, join a group of commuters heading down a main cycle route into the town at a designated time, led by trained ride leaders. As a larger group, you feel safer in traffic, and you get a more sociable experience.
Train 1 – North Swindon to Pipers Way (Nationwide HQ). Monday 10th September and Tuesday 11th September
7.45am sharp – Depart Orbital shopping centre (Thamesdown Drive main entrance), 7.50am – Oakhurst Way (junc Thamesdown Drive)
Train will then travel via Route 45 through Shaw Forest, through West Swindon, across Wootton Bassett Road, link to the old railway path to Marlborough Road, and down Pipers Way to the Nationwide Building.
8.40am – arrive at Nationwide
At the end of the day he Cycle Train will also leave the Nationwide entrance at 5.15pm to head back up to North Swindon.
Train 2 – North Swindon to Swindon Town Centre. Daily Monday 24th September through to Friday 28th September

8.12 – STOP – Coop at Moredon Road?
8.16 – (**) Roundabout at top of Vicarage Road (bottom of Beech Ave)?
8.30 – Arrive at Tricentre near Fleming Way?08.35 – Arrive at SBC Wat Tyler West
The trains will be using all cycle paths / quiet streets. If you wish the train to stop anywhere else along the way, please call Anna Cipullo on 07717 696 672 before the day.
The return journey from the town centre will be 5.15pm at the Sheppard Street entrance to the Western Flyer. Pick up from your workplace can be arranged – please discuss with Anna.
