Longcot Village Fair and Fun Dog Show
Sunday 26 June 2011
Planning is now in full swing for the first Longcot Village Fair in many years.
The afternoon will be packed with activities for all the family and their four-legged friends to keep them amused throughout the afternoon. As well as a ‘fun’ dog show with 17 classes, Welly Wanging, Face Painting and other family activities, visitors will be able to ride on dodgems and an Octopus at the ‘mini’ fairground.
Thanks to the generous offer of a giant marquee, the day will be one for villagers to remember, come rain or shine. The marquee will play host to a local ‘covered market’ with an array of stalls and charity displays surrounding the entertainment area where traditional Morris Dancers and a local band will keep visitors entertained.
No-one need go hungry: outside, a hog roast and barbeque will provide delicious food while a ‘cafe’ area and bar will provide hot and cold refreshments – close to the ubiquitous cake stall. Other attractions include a Coconut Shy, a small display of local vintage cars and bottle stall.
The Fair is in aid of the St Mary’s Open Door Project to raise funds to build a kitchen and toilet facilities to enable wider community use of the church.
Tickets on the day to include a lucky raffle ticket: Adults £2, Children £1 (under 12 years). Free car parking with access from Fernham Road.
