When Zach was 10 weeks old Eddie started to take him swimming every Saturday morning – both Daddy and Zach soon enjoyed having lots of fun in the water, building their confidence and bonding. As he grew into a toddler Zach loved his swimming lessons so much he encouraged his mummy, Lora, to take him to classes in the week as well!
Lora and Eddie enjoyed the whole experience of baby swimming lessons so much they decided that they wanted to introduce other parents to the joys of teaching their own little ones to swim in a safe and enjoyable environment – and so their second baby, Aquababies West, was born!
All babies are born with the ability to hold their breath underwater. Our method works with babies from as young as eight weeks old and using specially developed word association exercises we build on what nature has given them. By the time they reach 12 months old the reflex disappears but by then they’ve begun to learn how to hold their breath when their faces are wet! Our classes are fun for both you and your baby and while your baby is learning to swim, you are learning how to practice the technique outside the classes.
Introducing Parent and Baby Aqua Fit
Ideal for the mum (or dad!) who wants to get back into shape after the birth, this will improve your fitness at the same time as introducing your child to the water – so there’s no need to find babysitters to look after the children whilst you exercise!
Set to nursery rhymes we combine low impact and fat-burning aqua aerobic exercises for an overall workout. Plus we teach basic water confidence and movement techniques for your baby so you can both have fun.
Parent and Baby Aqua Fit groups are small and tailored to suit everyone in a friendly, warm and welcoming environment
We swim in lovely warm pools in Swindon – Dorcan Recreation Complex on a Monday and the Hilton Hotel on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
