Asda’s Community Life Project which champions local groups and promotes community spirit has had a great reception in West Swindon with groups benefiting from customers voting for groups using tokens given out with purchases – but some 50,000 tokens have gone missing.
Each other month the group with the most tokens deposited in a special box at the West Swindon Centre receives £200 whilst two runner ups get £50 each.
West Swindon Asda community coordinator Jan Kilby said: “There has been a great response because people know the local groups involved.”
But some shoppers have taken a liking to the tokens and Jan is appealing for them back. “I had 100,000 when we launched in May, but at least half have disappeared. Please bring them in and boost a group’s chance of winning.”
