Autumn wreath making at Lydiard Park
Lydiard Park will help people create an autumnal centrepiece during a practical workshop later this week.
The Swindon Borough Council-owned stately home and park will be running a session on Thursday 20 September for people to hand craft a traditional wreath-style decoration for their home.
The workshop will run from 10.30am to 11.30am and costs £10 person. All materials are provided. Places must be booked in advance.
Participants will work alongside Lydiard Park’s Gardening Team to fashion a base for their decoration and weave in a mix of dried flowers, including Cardoons, as well as fresh blooms, like Echinacea and Aster, picked from the Walled Garden.
The end result will be an attractive centrepiece to display in their homes. The session takes place in the Coach House at Lydiard Park and participants will be able to tour round the beautifully restored 18th Century Walled Garden at Lydiard Park for additional garden inspiration.
The seasonal theme continues later in the month with a free guided walk on Autumn Fruits and Seeds on Sunday, 30 September between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Booking is also essential for this event. To find out more about events and activities taking place at Lydiard Park, go to the website www.lydiardpark.org.uk, visit the Facebook page on www.facebook.com/lydiardpark or call the park on 01793 770401.
