On 16 July, Leapfrog Day Nursery in St Andrews, Swindon officially became a Busy Bees Nursery, after Leapfrog nurseries were acquired by Busy Bees in 2007. The nursery has also undergone a transformation, as walls were painted, carpet was replaced, and new resources were brought in.
The nursery was officially opened by Neil Griffiths, published author and creator of the award-winning Storysack® phenomenon. Neil then spoke to nursery staff and parents about his passion and enthusiasm for the art of storytelling, demonstrating its importance and how to encourage children to become life-long readers by holding a story time session.
Lots of fun activities were held for families to enjoy, including a visit from ZooLab, who brought in lots of weird and wonderful animals, from cute bunny rabbits to hairy spiders, and a visit from Music Bugs, who encouraged the children to choose an instrument and play a tune!
Nursery Manager, Niki Eyles, said; “Everyone had a great time. The children loved getting up close to all the animals and it was a great opportunity for the parents to see what we do in nursery.
“The nursery looks great, and we will continue to deliver the same high standard of childcare as Busy Bees nursery.”
