NBFA Assisting the Elderly is a charity dedicated to helping the elderly stay socially and physically active through means of pain relief machines, emergency home alarms, free Break-Away trips, and subsidised Day Trips.
Our goal is to ensure that the elderly who have become isolated, alone or unhappy are enabled to reintegrate, and conduct a more enjoyable lifestyle.
On 17 February 2014 we are organising a Break-Away holiday to the South Downs, with pick-up points in Reading and Swindon.
Our Breaks-Away are free five day trips for people sixty-five and over, who are on a low income and haven’t been on holiday in three years or more. Half board accommodation, transport and entertainment are provided free of charge; all we ask is that applicants be able to climb aboard the coach unhindered.
Our Breaks-Away always have positive feedback, with beneficiaries making new friendships and returning home with a new lease of life.
There is a preliminary session we hold prior to the holiday itself that allows people to meet the others participating in the trip, and to learn a bit more about the NBFA and the itinerary of their week away, which helps make the whole experience less daunting and more comfortable.
