Charlie Green, a semi-finalist in BGT 2008 is coming to Swindon to perform at the opening session of Rising Aspirations Academy of Performing Arts.
In his BGT audition, Charlie Green sang Frank Sinatra’s ‘Summer Wind’, and received a standing ovation. Amanda Holden predicted he could win the show. Simon Cowell dubbed him “a little star” and Piers Morgan said that he "has it all". Charlie received three ‘yes’ votes from the judges and was put through to the live shows.
Since appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, Charlie has released two albums ‘Charlie Green’ and ‘A Friend Like You’. He is a massive hit in both the Philippines and the USA, but that has not stopped him from coming to Swindon to perform to youngsters with a similar ambition.
Charlie will be performing for the students of Rising Aspirations Academy of Performing Arts to celebrate the school’s opening in September 2010. He is also going to take part in a question and answer session, to give the students the opportunity to find out what his life is really like.
Rising Aspirations Academy of Performing Arts holds sessions for students from the age of four to eighteen years old at Isambard Community School and Red Oaks Primary School. Every session includes a lesson in drama, singing and dance. This is a great opportunity for young performers in Swindon.
