Swindon-based technology company Systems Test Solutions, which specialises in providing simulated test environments for the telecoms industry, is taking the courageous step of expanding its business state-side, by opening an office in Chicago.
Describing the need to keep up with technology developments in such a fast-paced market, Manish Singh, who runs the business with his wife Nandini, said: “The US is about 3 years ahead of the UK in implementing the new 4G technology, so the time is right for us to gain expertise in that area ahead of it coming on stream here in Europe.”
The delay to this technology becoming available to telecoms providers in Britain is due to the continued use of analogue television frequencies.
Once TV has fully switched to digital, 4G technology will be able to expand here without interference. And Systems Test Solutions will be ready for it.
The company is retaining its operation at Basepoint Business Centre in Westlea, and Manish is keen to thank his UK-based staff Ramakrishna Sakhamuru and Durga Damarla for their continued hard work.
Contemplating the challenges that a move to the US entails Manish said: “Nandini and I and the children will have to get used to a new style of living. Going to new schools and finding the right employees will be challenging for us. But in order for our business to expand and meet the demands of global clients this is a move that it is necessary for us to make.”
