If you own a dog, or could borrow one, and would like to help charity, this could be for you.
The Swindon Group of Cancer Research UK are holding their first “Best Paw Forward” sponsored dog walk on Sunday 27 April around Coate Water Park Lake.
After gathering together, the walk will start at approx. 11.00am and the dogs, plus their owners, can walk, stroll gently or even run round the lake, which should take approx. 45 minutes to I hour.
Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and you could even bring along a picnic to enjoy afterwards.
The unique element to this event is that the dogs are raising money and not their owners.
Each owner of a dog registered will be given one free entry into a prize draw to win the fabulous prize of a “Doggy Hamper” full of goodies and surprises. More tickets will be available for purchase on the day.
Cancer Research UK’s long term vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. They are the largest charitable funder of cancer research in the world, funding nearly half of the UK’s cancer research and the only one to research all 200 types of cancer. They receive no government funding.
If you would like to know more about the walk you can contact Sarah Blackmore-Heal, Chair of the local fundraising group on 07973 391894 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
