Graham Beardmore from Pitman Training’s Swindon Centre said:“We’ve got some great students in Swindon and would love for these people to be recognised for their drive, in going after what they want in life. Also, these awards are open to non-Pitman students and we look forward to discovering others in our region who are also striving ahead, and to hearing their stories. The awards are focused on discovering and recognising the unrewarded hard workers that are helping to keep UK businesses thriving – and we think we have a good helping of these in Swindon”.
The UK’s leading independent training provider, Pitman Training has launched these awards to show anything is possible, after a smaller, very successful competition last year which honored working mum Amanda Edwards, who was nominated by her daughter and also Stacie Pettman who was crowned ‘Student of the Year’ after transforming her career from waitress to legal secretary in just a few months.
Stacie said: “Winning the award was an amazing feeling – I didn’t expect to even be nominated so it was an even greater surprise to actually win! It has definitely increased my confidence and it was such a great feeling adding it to my CV. I think it has given me an extra special something to impress potential employers and it has definitely spurred me on to become even more successful in my career.”
Achieving my Diploma has definitely shown me that I don’t need to get in a lot of debt at University to be successful. Doing the course at Pitman Training has meant I can earn a lot more money than I was at my previous job and more importantly have job satisfaction and pride in my job. The course has got me at a great starting point for my career and a head start against other candidates for jobs in the legal profession. I will be forever grateful for how it has helped me in my career. I wish good luck to any students this year who are up for the award and I hope it brings them the same success that it did for me.”
