I am a North Swindon mum of 2 beautiful girls aged 5 and 2. Before having my girls I suffered from 2 miscarriages. After feeling the devasting loss and then the most amazing joy of having my daughters I wanted to do something to help.
Last summer I trained as a telephone support volunteer for the Swindon and N.E Wilts branch of the Miscarriage Association.
In November 2009 I ran a Family Fun Day for Tommys (and raised just under £1500), because of the most amazing work they do supporting people and research into miscarriage, stillbirths and premature labour.
I also felt that I wanted to support CALM because I have known through other people the most amazing work that they do supporting families and children who have cancer and leukemia. I truly cannot imagine the pain and suffering that these families must feel.
The evening is being supported by Chordiem who have kindly offered to theme the room, Top Hat entertainment who have kindly offered to donate their DJing services and many other local businesses who have offered raffle and auction prizes. Any other auction prizes would be gratefully received!
The details of the evening are:
