On Saturday 9th October, the first Heat of the Swindon Calendar Girls 2011 competition took place at Liquid & Envy nightclub with the aim of raising £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support from sales.
The entrants had a picture taken by Kris Talikowski, the Swindon photographer whose shots will feature in the calendar, followed by an interview with calendar sponsor Hanif Robbani of the Bombay Lounge restaurant and Polly Bishop, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The second heat takes place this coming Saturday, 16th October and there’s still time to enter at: www.liquidclubs.com/swindon to enter.
The Grand Final takes place on Saturday 23rd October. Supporters are guaranteed a great night out cheering on their favourites.
The winning calendar girls will receive a Gold VIP card for Liquid & Envy worth over £6,000, a framed print of their final calendar page and a prize pack from the sponsor.
The calendar launch is planned for Saturday 13th November and they will be on sale from a number of outlets, including a Macmillan stall in the Brunel Centre and Liquid & Envy.
The Bombay Lounge and Macmillan are also working together to raise money next month, with a charity curry night on Monday 1st November. A buffet will be available at £12.50 per head, with all profits going to Macmillan Cancer Support. To reserve a table, call the Macmillan Fundraising Office on 01793 432252.
