Christ Church of Old Town have been busy over the last few weeks collecting, between their members, up to 9 months worth of valuable supplies for Threshold, Swindon’s homeless charity as part of Poverty and Homelessness Action Week last week.
Christ Church, a long time member of the Swindon Old Town Partnership of Churches, have been gathering food and toiletries for Threshold through their Home Groups, who meet every week for fellowship, Bible discussion and social events. Kat Rees, Resettlement Worker for Threshold, said “I’m really pleased with the effort everyone’s made, they’ve collected much more than I imagined.”
Threshold are a local register charity working to give homeless people a ‘chance to change’ what are often desperate circumstances and they rely heavily on dedicated local organisations such as churches for their support and donations.
