The Swindon Division of the armed forces charity SSAFA will be collecting vital funds to care for Swindon’s military community young and old at Sainsbury’s Bridgemead on 11/12 May 2013.
SSAFA provides practical, emotional and financial support to anyone who has ever served and their families too.
Each year the charity helps up to 200 people annually in Swindon and 50,000 nationally.
Collectors will be at Sainsbury’s Bridgemead store between 10am and 4pm on each day. All the money raised will be used locally.
Chris Leggett, Fundraiser for Swindon Division of SSAFA commented “We believe that the commitment of our Forces and their families deserves our lifelong support. Whenever our ex-Servicemen or their dependants need us, we’ll do whatever we can to help. Our clients are changing and so are their needs. Younger veterans are increasingly likely to come forward for our assistance. The move into civilian life can be a difficult one with common issues including housing, relationships, employment and mental health.”
