The public tree plant at the new Jubilee Wood off Akers Way had to be cancelled because of heavy snow in January, but here’s a chance to take part in a project to plant trees for the future in West Swindon’s green hideaway.
Peatmoor Community Woodland Group is looking for help to plant trees at Peatmoor Copse on Saturday 9 March, 1pm to 4pm.
Members of the group who coppice (cut down) trees over the winter months in a planned cycle has received 400 ‘whips’ from the Woodland Trust to restock the copse.
Participants are asked to bring a spade, wear boots and bring rain gear and their own refreshments. Children are welcome to take part with supervision from parents. The site is not suitable for wheelchairs and there are no toilets.
