The generous gesture of a Rodbourne restaurant proprietor has proved so popular that the restaurant is fully booked for two sittings well in advance of the event.
Mr Ali, of the Curry Place Tandoori, Rodbourne Road, Swindon is giving the proceeds from a special dinner he is holding on the 20 August to the Mayor’s Charities, Swindon Cares and TWIGS.
Swindon’s Mayor, Councillor Michael Barnes, said, “this is tremendous news, my charities will benefit and the diners will also get to partake of a four course meal of new dishes.
"I do however feel sorry for those who have been unable to get a table for this event.
The Mayoress and I are very much looking forward to attending this which Mr Ali has kindly agreed to organise in support of the Mayor’s Charities”
