THE move up from the National League to the Elite League is such a massive jump so I think the Fast Track Draft would work really well in the Premier League.
I’m not really one for getting into the politics and things at the AGM and I just wait to see what goes on, and then wait for phone calls from clubs, but I do think that would work.
It worked out better for some riders than others, but the big benefit from being in the draft was being able to be around the top boys and things like that because there was an awful lot to learn from them, but it’s definitely a massive jump.
I think it should be in the Premier League but it’s not down to me. Young riders would be more competitive there, the jump up there would be big enough but to the Elite League it’s just massive.
The standard of bikes and the money you need behind you for the Elite League is massive, so it was always going to be hard.
I didn’t get to ride there for anything close to as long as I wanted to because of my accident, but I thought I held my ground in the one meeting I did ride in at Lakeside. I scored three points and I think I did pretty well, it’s just a shame I didn’t get a proper chance.
If it was in the Premier League I know it would bring me forward, although that’s a big jump too, so hopefully we can get the chance.
