David Lloyd Leisure is delighted to announce that it is the Official Fitness Partner for Sport Relief 2014, one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events that encourages people all over the country to get active and raise cash to help change lives.
The group’s 78 David Lloyd Clubs across the UK will be hosting a series of fundraising initiatives to support the campaign, culminating in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games, which take place between March 21 and 23.
Among the events planned, David Lloyd Leisure will stage a Friends and Family Weekend across the Clubs on March 15 and 16, featuring a range of fundraising activities for members and their guests – the emphasis being on taking part and having fun!
A David Lloyd Leisure expert fitness team will also put their best foot forward by providing the warm-up for thousands of runners at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on March 23, one of the landmark venues for the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games, featuring three massive fundraising events – the Mile, the Swimathon and the Cycle.
Raising cash for Sport Relief transforms the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both in the UK and around the world. Comic Relief spends the money raised by the public during Sport Relief to help change lives. Since 2002, Sport Relief has raised over £195 million.
Scott Lloyd, Chief Executive at David Lloyd Leisure, said: “We are very proud to be the Official Fitness Partner for Sport Relief 2014.
