After a long wait, the Swindon Torun twinning committee has set up a second trip to the town’s twin in Poland.
Organiser Stan Pajak said, “the trip will be a wonderful opportunity to sample Polish culture amid the historic surroundings of Torun, the birth place of Copernicus, the home of Teutonic knights and a university of 30,000 students matched by a wonderful old town centre with shops and restaurants.
"Athletes can also take part in the Torun half and full marathon www.maraton-metroplii.pl. We have six free places for Swindon runners and a reasonable charge for additional competitors. Could this be a revenge mission as Torun runner Krzysztof Bartkiewicz won last October’s Swindon Half Marathon?”
The trip takes place from Saturday 5 June to Wednesday 9 June. The cost is £110 for four nights bed and breakfast and coach travel to Bristol airport and transfer from Bydgoszcz airport to Torun. Tickets for the Ryanair flights must be bought individually.
