Two Wiltshire journalists are inviting women working in small businesses or third sector organisations, to find out how to effectively run their own PR.
Fiona Scott & Sue Thomas, who founded Swindon-based company Mellow Media in 2008, will be running the event at the Mechanics Institute office at 1 Milton Road, Swindon on Tuesday October 23.
Fiona says: “Many small businesses have stories to tell but they don’t know how to communicate effectively on or offline. This day will help them to understand how the media works, what makes a good story and what doesn’t. It will also help them engage more effectively on social media.”
From publicising their news to using Twitter, Facebook and Google+, guest speakers will include journalist Jo Smyth, a skilled blogger, and Jackie Hutchings, a whizz at social media. The event will be tailored specifically to the experience of those delegates who attend.
As well as teaching practical skills, everyone who attends will receive a professional business photograph by Swindon photographer, Sabine Coe – something to pep up the social media and PR profile.
