A series of Easter-themed events will be taking place at Lydiard Park over the next few weeks.
Children will have a range of activities to choose from including two drop-in craft sessions and the popular Easter weekend parkland trail.
Pond dipping sessions take place on Friday, 15 and 22 April and Tuesday 19 April, where children can discover what wildlife lives beneath the surface of the park’s lakes. The sessions run between 11am and 1.30pm. Places need to be booked in advance as numbers are limited. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
There’s a chance to make a Fashionista Bonnet on Friday, 22 April, costing £4 per child in the Stable Block and no booking is required. Anyone wishing to take part should drop in between 12pm and 3pm on both days. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Great Lydiard Park Easter trail takes place on Easter Saturday, 23 April and Easter Sunday, 24 April. Families can seek out the picture clues hidden around the lakes, woodlands and lawns of the historic park to solve the puzzle and win a small chocolate treat.
To take part, meet at the Stable Block near Lydiard House between 12pm and 3pm. The trail costs £1 per child and no booking is required, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
Families can also enjoy a leisurely stroll around the park in the company of a storyteller on Easter Monday, 25 April. Children will be entertained with stories and rhymes on this Storywalk, from 1pm to 2pm. Families need to book for a place and the cost is £3 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The grounds of Lydiard Park are open daily and entry and parking is free. The play area, next to the visitor centre, is packed with swinging and climbing equipment offering active fun for children of all ages.
