Emergency services show excitement – 12 September
Every kind of emergency services vehicle will be on show and in action at Hullavington Airfield near Chippenham on Sunday 12 September, from 10am to 4pm.
See a wide range of displays plus vintage emergency services vehicles and the regional police dog trials.
Visitors will be able to enjoy rides in fire engines and police cars and also talk to police officers, firefighters and paramedics about their work.
New this year will be displays by Berkshire Search & Rescue Dogs and HART – the Hazardous Area Response Team, made up of paramedics working for Great Western Ambulance Service, who are available 24/7 to respond to major or complex incidents.
And thanks to sponsorship from Cotswold Outdoor, the Silver Stars Parachute Display Team from the Royal Logistics Corps will be jumping above the showground at Hullavington airfield at 2pm.
It is the first time that the show has featured a parachute display, and organising committee chairman Chris Harvey is delighted to welcome Silver Stars. "The emergency services have close links with the military, so we’re thrilled that Cotswold Outdoors has made it possible for the Silver Stars to be part of our Show. We just need the weather to play its part now."
The show is organised by a committee of volunteers drawn from the three ‘blue light’ services of Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service and Great Western Ambulance Service.
The cost is £5 adults; £2.50 children.
