On 13 September 2014 from 7pm the Lawn Community Centre, Swindon will be rocking once again to the sounds of the 60s performed by ‘End of the Track’ to help raise funds for Threshold Housing Link, Swindon’s homelessness charity.
The partnership between ‘End of the Track’, Lawn Community Centre and Threshold has helped raise hundreds of pounds to help support Swindon’s homeless over the years.
Threshold’s CEO, Cher Sawyer-Smith MBE says, "We are really grateful to ‘End of the Track’ for again helping us to raise vital funds for services which support local people who are unfortunate enough to become homeless.
"It doesn’t take much to make a real difference – for every £10 raised our Street Outreach Workers can go out for an hour to meet homeless people on the streets, at the breakfast club or soup run and offer advice and support to get into accommodation, access health care or benefits.
"Threshold has been helping homeless people for over 40 years providing immediate support, advice and advocacy and emergency accommodation and in that time we have continually relied upon the generosity of local people to help some of the most marginalised in our society".
The event promises to be an excellent evening of sauntering down memory lane with 60s classics performed by the 12 strong band. There will be refreshments and a raffle – all the audience have to bring are their dancing shoes. All proceeds will be going directly to a good cause – tackling homelessness.
Tickets are available from Wendy on 01793 422852 priced at £5.
