Family Welfare Association is a leading voluntary organisation providing practical, emotional and financial support through a wide range of services.
Working with Swindon SureStart Partnership, FWA will provide management and family support services to the new Children’s Centre based at the former Salt Way Primary School, West Swindon. Offering a variety of centre and home based services to families, all our work will be aimed at helping local people develop their strengths and skills.
CENTRE MANAGER: ?26,227 – ?29,059 pa: 37 hours per week
You will develop inclusive and integrated services at the Centre and will oversee, co-ordinate and facilitate group activities aimed at supporting parents to develop their parenting skills. You will provide families with information and advice as well as practical and emotional support. You will also be expected to deputise in the absence of the Project Manager.
You must have experience of working with families and children within a community setting, including up-to-date knowledge of Safeguarding Children and Every Child Matters legislation. You will also be required to work in partnership with other agencies and have experience of working in a multi-agency environment. A professional qualification in community work, education, health, social work, early years or equivalent is essential.
Confirmation of the above appointment will be subject to the successful candidate obtaining an acceptable enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
