Landlords in Swindon are being invited to a special event where they will be given expert advice on letting properties.
Swindon Borough Council’s Landlords’ Forum will be held on Monday, 18 October and will be aimed at existing landlords and owners of empty properties in the private sector.
The event, which is being held at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway between 1.30pm and 4.15pm, will include talks on the HMO (Housing in Multiple Occupation) licensing, HMOs and the need for planning permission.
Swindon Borough Council’s Landlord Accreditation Scheme – Gold Award, council tax, housing benefit overpayment and the housing benefit claim lifecycle will also be on the agenda.
Cllr Brian Mattock, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Community and Partnerships, said: “Swindon needs good quality rental housing and it is important we work in partnership with private landlords.
“The Swindon Landlords’ forum has plenty of advice for landlords including information on the council’s Landlord Accreditation scheme and housing benefit issues.”
