Swindon will benefit from extra Thamesdown bus services over the Christmas period, with the introduction this year of services running on Boxing Day.
In previous years, services have not been in operation on Boxing Day. However in response to demand a Sunday timetable will run on services 1, 2, 13, 14, 17 and 29. Additionally, a special timetable will be operation on the Hospital Express, Service 16.
On Christmas Eve, normal Monday services will operate, however all services will end at approximately 8pm. There will be no service on Christmas Day.
Normal service will resume from Thursday 27 December until Sunday 30 December. On New Year’s Eve a normal Monday service will operate until 8pm and there will be no services running on New Year’s Day.
Throughout the holiday period from 22 December until 6 January, families can travel all day within the Swindon urban area for just £5 with a Family for a Fiver dayrider ticket. This special ticket is available from the Thamesdown bus driver.
The Thamesdown Travel Shop will also be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Sunday 30th December and New Year’s Day. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the Travel Shop will close at 2pm.
