Four long serving members of staff said farewell on 12 July.
Operational head teacher Jane Burcham described their histories and difference they made to so many young lives over the years.
Brenda Taylor has been at Moredon for the past thirty-two years, first as a school secretary, then School Bursar and, since moving to the new primary school, school Business Manager. Mrs. Taylor has worked tirelessly for the school, led the admin team and through her absolute dedication and prudence the school’s finances have thrived, which in turn we have been able to spend on the children’s education.
Pat Pope has been with us for 29 years, first as a senior MDSA in the infant school, then a Teaching Assistant in the Infant and Junior School and, in the last ten years our school counsellor. Mrs. Pope has supported many children and their families over the years; her door has always been open and her kindness and patience have been endless.
Anne Gray has been involved with Moredon for 18 years, first as an MDSA in the Infant School, then a teaching assistant in the Junior School and has continued as a Key Stage 2 TA in our Primary School. Mrs. Gray has been a very conscientious, confident, calm and caring teaching assistant who the children respect and whom she has taught well.
Lyn Stacey has been at Moredon for 21 years as a Midday Dinner Supervisor, Foundation Stage 1 and 2 (Nursery & Reception) teaching assistant and leader of our After School Entertainment Club. Mrs. Stacey has been a very reliable and dedicated member of staff supporting many children in all these areas of school life.
We wish these four special ladies, who have devoted so many years to the children and families of Moredon, a well deserved, long, happy and fun filled retirement. We will miss them very much and school will not be the same without them.
