The flower displays in St Mary?s Church, Lydiard Park are always spectacular and this year?s festival, from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 June, 10am to 5pm, will no doubt match those in the past.
The year the theme is A Festival of Weddings to celebrate marriage as a sign of unity and loyalty which enriches society and strengthens community.
Some twenty displays around the historic church, identified by writer Simon Jenkins as one of the best in Britain and featured in his TV programme, will portray many different anniversaries, not only the well known waymarks of diamond, silver and gold, but also those that are passed along the way like paper, tin and leather.
See the displays organised by the church flower guild, local groups and schools, and learn about the anniversaries as well.
The church holds it annual summer fair with lots of stalls outside the church, next to the drive to Lydiard House from the Grange Park entrance on Saturday 24 June, 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
All proceeds go towards the considerable cost of maintaining the building.
