With Christmas coming up, demand for emergency help from Swindon Foodbank could be greater than ever. So raising money to keep the service going is really important.
On Saturday 27 October foodbank supporters put the fun into fundraising by enjoying a less expensive way of coming together for a ton of fun by jiving to 1950’s style Rock’n’Roll band Wild at the Marriott Hotel, Old Town. Experienced dancers from Swindon’s Just Jlive were on hand to tutor the right kind of moves.
Sponsors included Artwork & Design Solutions (for all printed materials) and Worldofbaxterbear.com who donated a number of teddies for raffle prized, web experts hodgesnet.co.uk, and Honda who donated a new electric mower for the auction on the night.
Swindon Foodbank is ready to step in when a crisis hits a family because of redundancy or sudden illness which results in sudden drop in income. By giving people food and support when it’s needed most and until a family can sort itself out and gain assistance from statutory services, greater disaster and greater poverty can be averted.
Anybody can suddenly find themselves in this desperate situation which is why Swindon Foodbank needs continued donations of food and also volunteers to sort it out and make up food boxes.
