Lydiard Park is running a variety of fun and exciting activities for children of all ages during May half-term.
Families will have the opportunity to take part in the brand new Wild in the Wood challenges and relax in the beautiful surroundings of Lydiard Park while listening to stories.
On Tuesday, 27 May families can join in the Fun Family Challenge. The challenge is a self-led trail where groups can work together to solve clues and enjoy nature. The event will take place between 11am and 2pm and can be booked by calling 01793 465277. The price is £10 per group (maximum of six people) and is suitable for children aged six years and over.
On Wednesday, 28 May children can enjoy an interactive story telling session with Frederick the Fox Cub to discover what he has been up to this spring in the park.
There are five sessions taking place throughout the day at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Each session lasts approximately 40 minutes and is suitable for children aged seven years and under.
Tickets for the storytelling are £2 per child and are available from the Coach House Activity Room from 10am on the day.
On Thursday, 29 May families can take part in the Wild in the Woods activity by joining Robin Hood and becoming part of his band of Merry Men. There is an opportunity to learn traditional crafts and how to survive in the great outdoors, build a woodland fortress or have a go at making Merry Men Medallions.
There are two sessions taking place from 10am to 12noon and from 1pm to 3pm. The cost is £10 per child and £3 per adult. Please pre-book on 01793 465277.
Children must be accompanied by an adult for all the May half-term events.
There is also still time to visit the Customs and Crafts exhibition in Lydiard House and take part in the Mouse Trail. The cost of the trail is included with standard admission to Lydiard House. This exhibition is running from 11am to 5pm until Sunday 1 June and is great for children aged five years and under.
For those who prefer to enjoy the warmer weather outside, discover the signs of spring around the park with our Frederick the Fox Cub Seasonal Trail. Two types of trail are available for just £1- one for under 5s and one for over 5s. Please purchase from the Forest Cafe, Coach House Tea Rooms or Lydiard House.
