Looking for a wardrobe? Got a sofa you no longer want? Want to swap spare spoons for a new necklace?
Gateway Furniture Project is holding a Give or Take Day at Trinity Centre, Stonehill Green, Westlea on Saturday 15 October, 10am to 4pm
The day is designed to give people a chance to get rid of furniture and bric-a-brac they don’t need and to pick up something that attracts them.
It’s all free, although there will be a minimum donation of £10 for delivery, and donations towards the project will be gratefully received. By re-using things instead of throwing them away the aim is to reduce landfill and fly-tipping, and to help save valuable resources. The day also offers people on low incomes the chance to pick up household items they may need.
As well as furniture and good quality bric-a-brac, a number of more unusual items from the project will be for sale, and there will be a cafe open for refreshments.
You can also bring clothes but they will be stored for later in the year when Gateway will be hosting a special Frock Exchange.
If you have large items of furniture or white goods that need collecting, call 526130 or 07540 726431 to arrange collection.
Donations of white goods will not be available on the Give and Take Day. They will be PAT and function tested before being given to those in need.
