Alive ’n’ Kicking is a 10 week programme to encourage healthy eating and physical activity for children, young people and the family as a whole.
Run by Swindon Borough Council, the free sessions for 5 to 16 year olds will restart in September:
Infants & Juniors programme (5 to 11 years old) – Oasis Leisure Centre, North Star Avenue, SN2 1EP
Seniors programme (12 to 16s) – Link Centre, Whitehill Way, SN5 7DL
The specialist children’s and young people’s weight management programme follows best practice as set out in NICE guidelines.
Led by approachable and knowledgeable health experts experienced in working with children and families, the core of the programme is behavioural change which is approached in a supportive and empathetic way.
The programme involves increasing physical activity for all family members with practical sessions to help improve lifestyle choices that emphasise healthy eating and physical activity.
Over the 10 sessions children and their families will be inspired and motivated and make new friends along the way.
