Link Centre is opening its doors to everyone for a fun-packed day of free activities on Saturday 30 August.
Running between 10am and 5pm, it follows the success of last year’s event, providing the chance to try a wide range of sports.
Skating for newcomers
Have a go in one of the 30 minute introduction sessions, from 10am to 12noon.
In the pool
• Junior beginner lessons for 5+ years, and for children aged 7+ who can swim at least 100 metres.
• Rookie Lifeguard sessions
• Flip & Fun Diving – jumping, tumbling and splashing
• Family Wet ’n’ Wild fun
• Meet the Swindon Dolphin and Tiger Shark swimming clubs.
Head for heights
Try out the climbing walls with expert guidance from 10.30am to 5pm. No need to book. Each participant will have 5 climbs per entry.
In the sports hall
Football taster sessions: 11am to 1pm;
Badminton taster sessions: 1pm to 5pm.
Fitness taster sessions: 9am to 12.45pm
Body Attack, Body Balance, Body Jam and Body Pump as well as RPM Express for 16+ years.
Children aged nine and over can work out in the TeenNRG circuit class, and for cyclists over 11s there is Teen SpinRG.
Toddlers to under 12s
Have a go on the trampolines and pre-school Mini Mover dance classes.
Enjoy a tea dance master class in the community hall.
In the mall
Dance mats and table tennis for all to have a go.
In the library
Open as normal 9.30am to 4pm, with pre-school storytime at 10.30am.
