Two West Swindon schools strengthened links with partners at Pirang Basic and Secondary Schools in Gambia when staff from Peatmoor Primary and Lydiard Park Academy spent February half term there.
Peatmoor teacher Sarah Adams set up the link as part of the British Council Global Classrooms programme in early 2013 and Pirang headteacher Molifa Daffeh visited Swindon last summer.
Sarah said: "Our trip was all about meeting Pirang staff and students and discussing how we can work together and to set up the link with the senior school. Parents help us fundraise for resources and sports equipment; the footballs, tennis balls, rounders bats, tabards and a parachute were the favourites when we got there."

The teachers helped in classes using work done at Peatmoor to compare how children get to school and their routine before and after school.
Mr Daffeh willl be returning to Peatmoor again this summer term and there are plans for Lydiard Park Academy 6th Form students to go to the Gambia in 2015.
