We are very excited to be writing to you with news of the launch of ‘Get together for Guide Dogs’, our new social events fundraising initiative. I hope you will agree that Get together is a really fun way to raise money and can be as big or as small as you like. From a coffee morning with your nearest and dearest, a cake sale in the office or a quiz in the pub, to a black tie ball or staged talent competition – whatever the idea, we’ve got the tools to inspire and help you.
Why not Get dining by hosting a dinner party, Get dunking with a coffee (and biscuits!) morning, Get dancing and keep up with the Strictly stars or Get dressing with a fashion show, dress down day or clothes swap party?
The money you raise could help us to transform the lives of thousands of blind and partially sighted people, like Bev Muldoon, a busy mum of five, whose guide dog Fifi has changed her world. It costs Guide Dogs £10 a day to support each guide dog partnership and there are currently over 4,500 guide dog owners in the UK, so every penny you raise is vital and could go towards helping someone living in your local community.
Our new Get together fundraising pack is available free of charge. It’s packed full of practical information, how-to guides, posters and invites and will give you a real head start for organising a successful fundraising event. Plus we’ll be bringing you monthly Get together ideas to inspire you throughout the year online at www.guidedogs.org.uk/gettogether and through our email newsletter.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy your Get together!
