There are many reasons why the Seventies were sensational. This is the decade that invented bubblegum, space hoppers and chopper bikes. It is the glamtastic era of flares and body glitter, and doing ‘The Bump’ on the dance floor. The hits that made it to number one in the charts are some of the most memorable in history, with glam rock, disco, punk rock and a rock ‘n’ roll revival all on the music scene.
On Thursday 17 July there will be a unique chance to relive the glitter and glamour as The Number One Show storms into Swindon with a Seventies Special. The most colourful decade in pop music will be revived in full glory with a live band, projected screen images and glittering costumes.
Specialists in recreating the most celebrated number one hits, the talented singers and their band will take you back to the music of the decade’s greatest bands such as Slade, T.Rex, David Essex, Abba, Blondie, Mud and 10cc. With hits from Grease and Saturday Night Fever, there really is no better time to dig out those flares and platform shoes and have a stomping good time – and if they miss anything be sure to shout out your requests!
