Plant and food lovers are in for a real treat on Sunday 12 May if they visit the first Grittleton Plant and Food Fair in aid of children’s charity Action Medical Research.
This exciting new venture is being held in the beautiful grounds of Grittleton House, Chippenham, by kind permission of the Shipp family. It is the ideal setting for a relaxing Sunday stroll and browse through the many stalls selling plants from specialist nurseries, and food stalls to tempt visitors’ taste buds.
Paddington Bear, the charity’s big furry mascot, will also be making a special guest appearance to greet the younger members of the family.
Action Medical Research
The North Wiltshire Committee of Action Medical Research will have a giant cake stall and tombola sold in aid of the charity, which funds vital medical research to help sick babies and children. There are also refreshments including homemade snacks and sandwich lunches available to purchase throughout the day.
Action Medical Research is currently funding research into a wide range of conditions including meningitis, Down syndrome, epilepsy and premature birth.
In the South West the charity is funding research involving the University of Bath which hopes to devise a new treatment method for young people suffering from chronic pain.
Doors open at 11am until 4pm, and entrance is £3 per person, families £5. For further details about Action Medical Research and the fair visit www.action.org.uk/grittleton.
