David Wray, chairman of the Swindon Centre for Multiple Sclerosis, was nominated as one of three volunteers to win the national MS Society Award in May at London’s Royal Garden Hotel.
Over the last three years David has led the Swindon Centre’s fundraising for a new home and oversaw the refurbishment and move to Bradbury House on Westmead Drive, Westlea.
He said, “I didn’t win the award as there were other nominees who had done amazing things, but I’m honoured to have achieved the shortlist and pleased all the volunteers who keep the Swindon Centre going were recognised for their hard work.”
• Professor Philip James, professor of Hyperbaric Oxygen at University of Dundee will visit the MS Centre on Friday 28 May, 11.45am, to meet MS sufferers and centre volunteers. He started the study of oxygen as a therapy over twenty five years ago and will talk about latest research into the benefits to people with MS and other muscular degenerative diseases.
To attend call Jackie Wray on 481700.
