Halcrow’s project director, Sami Al-Qazzaz was at the ceremony to collect the award. He said: “This award acknowledges the whole team’s dedication and input into the project. I am personally very proud to have been part of a team who have created such an amazing building”.
The judging panel was led by the President of the British Expertise, HRH The Duke of Gloucester, himself a qualified architect. He said; “As President of British Expertise, one of my most pleasant duties is chairing the judging panel for the annual International Awards competition and identifying yet more ways that members have excelled. This year has produced a larger number of entries than ever before from across a wide range of sectors in which member companies work, and the standard of those we selected as the finalists is correspondingly high”.
