With autumn approaching, Roves Farm Visitor Centre is inviting all budding hedgerow pickers to collect the natural produce of the hedgreows between Wednesday 8 September and Sunday 26 September.
Pat Hoddinot, the Centre manager, says ‘So many adults and children alike have never tasted fresh blackberries straight from the bush, nor seen hazelnuts or sloes growing’.
Free Tractor Rides will take visitors around the farm, providing a fun way to learn about hedgerow nuts and berries, as well as picking and tasting some scrummy blackberries!
Recipe ideas, including blackberry and apple jam, crab apple jelly and sloe gin will also be on offer.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic will rekindle every Friday from 12:30pm; an ideal time to meet up with and make new friends over a civilized cup of coffee and play. Meet and Feed the animals along with craft sessions are not to be missed!
Roves Farm Visitor Centre is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10.30am – 5.00pm.
