With autumn approaching, Roves Farm Visitor Centre is inviting all budding hedgerow pickers to come and discover British hedgerows and their produce, between Monday 5 September and Sunday 25 September.
Margaret Pursch one of the guides at the farm visitor centre said ‘So many adults and children alike have never tasted fresh blackberries straight off the bush, nor seen hazelnuts or sloes growing’.
Free Tractor Rides will take visitors around the farm, providing a fun way to learn about hedgerow nuts and berries. Recipe ideas, including blackberry and apple jam, crab apple jelly and slow gin will also be on offer.
Toddler Time will rekindle every weekday during term time at 10:45am and 1:00pm and will consist of a selection of interactive activities including bubbles, salt dough, story time, nature walks, action rhymes and lots more; an ideal time to meet up with and make new friends over a civilized cup of coffee and play. Meet and Feed the animals are not to be missed!
There are heated indoor picnic barns, as well as a Granary Tearoom, which serves a selection of hot and cold light lunches and drinks, along with delicious homemade cakes! A selection of gluten and dairy free choices are always available. There are also plenty of highchairs, a microwave for visitors to use and baby changing facilities.
Roves Farm Visitor Centre is open daily, 10.30am – 5.00pm.
