Josh Campbell will be guest of honour at Help for Heroes fundraiser in July
A soldier who has battled back to fitness, despite suffering the loss of both legs three and a half years ago, will be the guest of honour at a big fundraiser for Help for Heroes at the De Vere Hotel on Saturday 13 July.
Josh Campbell, right, sustained his injuries in September 2009 close to the end of a 6 month tour in Afghanistan with 23 Pioneer Regiment when his vehicle was blown up.
He woke up two weeks later and says, despite the trauma, he knew he had a future.
Help for Heroes has provided Josh with ongoing rehabilitation and the means to take on challenges such as skydiving and learning to waterski. He also volunteers at the charity’s Tidworth office and is a member of the Band of Brothers network which offers support to those suffering from life-changing injury or illness
Josh will talk about his extraordinary experiences and the impact of Help for Heroes at the black tie event organised by Colin Jackson.
The evening will include a 3 course meal followed by a live auction, silent auction and raffle. Live music will be provided by 24-7.
One of the top auction prizes is a ‘money-can’t-buy’ chance to be a recording artist. The winner will compose a song with Tom Gilbert, one of the UK’s most accomplished songwriters, before spending the rest of the day recording the number in a state of the art studio under the guidance of a professional producer and sound engineer before departing with a copy of the disc.
Tickets are £45.
Call Colin to offer further prizes for the auction and raffle.
