The Wyvern Theatre is thrilled to announce that Keith Chegwin will headline, for the second year running, Swindon’s favourite pantomime production. Like something out of Swap Shop, the New Year will see TV personality Keith Chegwin trade his ‘Buttons’ for ‘Silly Billy’, when he stars in Jack and the Beanstalk from Saturday 8 December 2012 to Sunday 6 January 2013.
"I’ve enjoyed rehearsals so much that I’ve signed up to spend next Christmas in Swindon too," says Keith Chegwin. "Audiences can now laugh until it hurts two years on the trot! Wey-hey!"
Fun and laughter will be at the heart of the Wyvern’s 2012-2013 pantomime. The gigantically funny adventure story of Jack and the Beanstalk will come alive on stage with stunning sets, amazing costumes and the biggest Giant in all of Swindon.
“I’m delighted,” boasts producer Daryl Back. “I can’t think of a better Silly Billy.”
Keith Chegwin continues to find himself in the spotlight. Over the coming months, not only does he lead the cast in the Wyvern’s 2011-2012 pantomime, Keith also stars in the movie Kill Keith and in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s brand-new TV series Life’s Too Short. In addition to this, Keith Chegwin is also confirmed for the 2013 series of Dancing On Ice and will be juggling the pantomime with training to skate.
‘Keith is a fantastic fun personality who is known by the whole family – ideal for a pantomime star – and I am so excited that he is returning to the Wyvern once again,” exclaims Theatre Director Derek Aldridge. “As an actor, host and presenter he has starred in films, television, on stage and on radio for over 40 years and I know our audiences will love him!”
Giant laughs will be had by the entire audience with ticket prices to suit all pockets – you won’t have to sell the family cow to enjoy the biggest pantomime in Swindon!
