There are many TEDxYouth events taking place all over the world for TEDxYouth Day on 20 November – all share a common theme: to inspire young people to participate in and be fired by the ingenious and innovative ways that people from all walks of life are shaping our world, both near and far.
TEDxYouth event in Bath on 17 November for sixth formers is the only event of its kind in England and there will be a live stream opportunity and is open to schools across the south west and the UK.
All of the events share a common purpose: "inspiring and empowering tomorrow’s young leaders.
There is a fantastic line up of speakers to inspire the students:
Midge Ure – musician
Neil Mullarkey – founder of the Comedy Store Players
Robin Wight – founder of The Ideas Foundation and www.iamcreative.org
Laila Diallo – choreographer (based in Bristol)
Deena Gornick – leading executive coach
Jemma Jewkes – Restorative Justice Facilitator and Prison Officer
Ben Please – local musician and filmmaker, won a Bafta with his brother this year for Best Short Animated Film (lives locally to Bath)
Jamie Feilden – young social entrepreneur and creator of Jamie’s Farm in Wiltshire (based in Box, Wiltshire)
Dave Cornthwaite – adventurer
Alex Mitchell from the IoD – British representative at the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance
