On a very, very wet and windy Friday morning 4 intrepid Swindon golfers set out at 04.00 to play 4 courses in one day raising money for The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
The 4 courses were:
04.00 Naunton Golf Club
08.45 Cirencester Golf Club
12.30 Cleeve Hill Golf Club
17.00 Brickhampton Court Golf Complex
The weather was dreadful but the prospect of raising over £3,000 spurred them on. It was still dark when they hit the first shot and the rain and wind were very strong. Several other similar challenges were called off over the country because of waterlogged courses but the 4 Swindon guys were determined to carry on with their challenge. Despite the conditions there were several birdies over the day and only 5 lost balls which given the weather was very impressive.
The windiest conditions were at Cleeve Hill which is probably one of the highest golf courses in the South West. Although the wind made the course almost unplayable the views are incredible with views over to the Bristol Channel
A very tiring day but well worth all the effort
HSBC are donating £ 500 and we have pledges of over £600 from companies giving us a total of well over £3,000.
