Isambard Community School held its inaugural prize-giving ceremony on 20 October, at which 45 students received awards for both academic achievement and outstanding contribution to the school.
The event was sponsored by John Laing Integrated Services, ESSL, David Wilson Homes and Persimmon Homes.
Headteacher, Rachael Mattey, said, “The ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the many talented, dedicated, hardworking, helpful and kind young people to counteract the negative image of today’s youth often given out by the media. We are grateful for the kind generosity of our sponsors, and look forward to doing it all again next year.”
Paddy Bradley, Director of Schools for Swindon Borough Council presented the final award of the evening, the Prime Minister’s Plate. He said, “I am proud that Swindon has produced such outstanding young people.”
