Forget expensive gifts or sexy lingerie, what people from the South West want is a love letter, a handwritten poem or a passionate embrace, according to a new study by South West British Heart Foundation (BHF) Shops.
The survey reveals that 83% of people from the South West prefer thoughtful romantic gestures compared to expensive gifts 17%?. With people from the South West revealing that being whisked away 37% or receiving a love letter or handwritten poem 25% is the most romantic gesture their other half could do for them.
BHF Shops in the South West provide the perfect way to romance that special someone this Valentine’s Day by posting a heartfelt Love Note in a South West BHF Shop window leading up to Valentine’s Day. Just pop into your local BHF Shop, before 14 February, along with a minimum £1 donation and declare your love for thousands to see.
This year as part of the Love Notes campaign, BHF Shops and De Vere Village Hotels are offering one lucky person, who has an unusual, quirky or exciting love story, the chance to win an all-inclusive* luxury spa stay for two. All you need to do is email a picture of you and your partner along with 200 words about your great love story to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Annita Riddle, South West Regional Manager for the BHF, says: “Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to spend large sums of money to woo your other half. In fact, romantic gestures like writing a love note or even just a hug can make your partner’s day. Posting a Love Note in a South West BHF Shop window is one of the easiest ways you can show your love for that special someone whilst the small donation of £1 will help the BHF continue its life-saving work.”
