Swindon Carers Centre is holding an Italian Dinner & Art Auction on Monday, 12 November 2012. Hosted by San Marco Italian Restaurant at their Faringdon Road premises with Stephen Dalton, an independent professional auctioneer affiliated to Town Auctions, this event is set to paint the town red.
On the night, Sanjay Madhani, owner of San Marco will be serving an impressive three course meal and importing Limoncello from Italy especially for the night. He says, “We want to ensure this evening is a success for Swindon Carers Centre. It is important to support local charities and this charity is so important to so many Swindon residents. We are proud to be a part of this fundraiser and hope we can raise lots of money on the night as it will all be going to a good cause.”
Artists such as Lesley Anne Cornish, Vicky Silver, Minh Chau, Gordon Dickenson and Tim Carroll have donated stunning works of art and sculpture which will be exhibited at The Post Modern Art Gallery, Theatre Square from Saturday 3 November so prospective bidders can view the pieces prior to the event.
Melanie Stanbury, Community Fundraising Chair and organiser of this event said, “Support for this event is overwhelming, the cream of the Swindon art scene have donated such amazing works. Many of the donors recognise the importance of Swindon Carers Centre and the work we do as they have personal experience from having carers within their family or from being carers themselves.”
A free Art Preview is being held on Wednesday 7 November 2012 at The Post Modern Art Gallery as a prelude to the main event on the 12th at San Marco. This evening will be open to everyone with an interest in art. Sealed bids can be made whilst enjoying canapés and an alcoholic free cocktail donated by M.I.C. Italian Food or maybe a glass of sparkling wine donated by The Old Bank, Old Town.
